The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

okay, Morrowind. nothing much to talk about here, since i guess EVERYBODY has played it. and if you haven't, you should, it's really good, once you get into it. it was released in 2002, so nowadays one can grab it for a few bucks from steam or whatever. hell, it even comes attached to gaming-magazines, like, for free, you know.
it's is an awesome rpg, a lot of stuff to do, a lot of places to visit. go fetch it.

Story, Gameplay, Graphics

the game begins with you waking up on a ship. you don't get to know very much about your life before the game started, but who cares. the first few minutes of the game are the character-creation, you're getting questions asked, like to which race do you belong, under which sign you were born, what your professions are, and so on. nicely done.
you can be whatever you like to be, archer, swordsman, magician, the whole typical fantasy-stuff up and down, but the more often or the longer you play the game you will see, that some things are fucked and are bound to be abandoned, where other things are nearly mandatory (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, FUCKING ALCHEMY, HOW DOES IT WORK?). nevertheless, very high grade of customization.
camera-perspective can be changed between 3rd person or 1st person, but most of the time will be spend in 1st person, since the animations are kinda ... awkward.
which brings me to the graphics. they ... well ... they suck. hard. :F
BUT (and this brings me to the next big thing) there are modifications for this game, which do not only make the game look "ah, okay, i can play that without getting eye cancer"-good, but more like "oh wow, i wouldn't have thought that it could be possible to do this to such an old game"-good.
but well, the graphics aren't the point to this game, it's the world and lore which will always bring someone back to morrowind, once you mention it.
running around is fun, fighting and magic-casting is weird, but okay i guess, exploring is rewarding, story is okay.
modification is HUGE.

i propose another 9/10 chests.
